General Canberra and Hotel Information

(Q): What is your address, and where exactly are you situated in terms of Canberra City?
(A): We are situated at the corner of Ainslie and Limestone Avenues, close to the heart of the city, within short walking distance of the town centre and mall. The airport is 6 kilometres away.

(Q): Are you close to shops, transport, the casino etc?
(A): We are in short walking distance to shops and transport.

(Q): Do you have airport pick-up, or drop-off?
(A): The Airport Shuttle to the city picks up and drops just outside the door.

(Q): Are there taxis close by?
(A): Taxis are available from Reception regularly.

(Q): What star rating is your Hotel and what kind of facilities do you provide?
(A): We are a 3 1/2 stars Hotel.

(Q): Is gratuity or tipping, necessary in Canberra?
(A): Gratuity, or tipping, is not necessary within Australia. It is up to the discretion of the guest.

(Q): What type of rooms do you offer, what facilities do they contain and what is the rate?
(A): We offer three different room types. Deluxe Lofts and Superior Rooms are both rated 4 star and the Heritage rooms are rated 3.5 star. Non smoking rooms are available.

(Q): Do your rates include any taxes?
(A): The Goods and Services Tax (GST) is included in all quoted rates.

(Q): Does your Hotel have any disabled rooms?
(A): The Hotel has 3 rooms classified as disabled rooms. These rooms are accredited disabled rooms.

(Q): What is your child policy?
(A): No charge for under 15 years of age accompanied with an adult using existing bedding.

(Q): What payment methods do you offer?
(A): Credit cards including Visa, MasterCard, Bankcard, Diners Club, American Express and Eftpos are all accepted. We also accept cash, travellers cheques and money order.

(Q): Is it necessary to leave a deposit?
(A): While leaving a deposit is not necessary, we do recommend one, as this will guarantee your booking. Leaving your credit card number is sufficient as a deposit also; no funds are debited until you checkout. Bookings can be held until 6pm unless guaranteed by credit card or pre-payment is a good idea to provide an arrival time, if known; the room can then be held up to that time.

(Q): Do I have to make a reservation, and what's your cancellation policy?
(A): While it is not necessary to make a reservation, we strongly recommend it as rooms are subject to availability. We do require 24 hours notice for any cancellations.

(Q): Do you offer any day room rates?
(A): Our room rates are inclusive of one night in all cases. Early check-in or late checkout will be offered on request, subject to availability.

(Q): What are your check-in and checkout times?
(A): Our check-in time is at 2pm, and our checkout time is at 11am.

(Q): Do you offer luggage storage?
(A): Storage for luggage and other items is available free-of-charge for all Hotel guests. 24-hour access to baggage storage is available.

(Q): Do you offer car parking?
(A): The Hotel offers on-site car parking complimentary to hotel guests. Parking for coaches is available on-site by request.

(Q): I am bringing a group of people, what type of discount can you offer?
(A): A group of 10 or more rooms can entitle you to a group discount rate. This discount varies depending on the number of guests, and, more importantly, on the date and room availability. Group inquiries can be made by telephoning our reservations department.
